A Much Needed Change

The weather's been so cold and I've been spending so much time in doors I've noticed that my entire house is beige, the walls, the carpet and the tiles and its driving me nuts. Oh how beige and boring my Master Bath is. You walk in and your eye get draw to nothing.Well I've been wanting to paint yet I wasn't inspired enough to do anything, its not spa like it just beige. Well I bit the bullet two weeks ago and took a tile sample to The Colory and picked out a few sample paints to try on the walls, a green/blue, a light blue and the dark blue/grey (Benjamin Moore: Philipsburg Blue). I was torn between the light and dark blues and decided to go with my gut and had the Philipsburg Blue mixed the next week in Benjamin Moore Kitchen and Bath Paint.

So then started the adventures in painting. By the way, this isn't the first time I've painted in our home, my oldest son's room was done by me almost 2 years ago and our laundry room was painted last year.

For 6 nights after the kids have gone to bed I've taped, painted and cleaned up and started the next day. And now I'm officially done and I'm so pleased with the color, its everything I'd hope for. Now the white trim stands out and the tiles fade away. But oh dear those cabinet doors are now so orange.
Here's a sneek peak of the bathroom's neew color.

Isn't it funny how paint never comes out exactly like the sample. Oh well I just love the end result.
